Family time

Lately George has been super busy with school. This semester he is taking four classes, that's right four classes! How he manages to do all the work I do not know but he does it and does it well. Because of his busyness he doesn't get much free time to spend with us but every once in awhile he takes a day off. This Saturday he decided to dedicate it to us and we had such a great time. My mom and I made breakfast, pancakes and eggs, and then we were off to the Latin and Caribbean festival that was taking place at the University of Pittsburgh. It was nice to see other people that looked like us (there isn't a big population of latinos here). We didn't stay for long because it was very crowded and it's hard to be in crowded places with a baby but it was fun and we got to hear music and see people dance tango. We then came home and my mother stayed home with Shiloh while George and I went out to dinner. I found out about a Korean restaurant on Yelp and we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did because it was pretty good. After dinner we went to a nearby shopping center but didn't really walk around because it was pretty chilly. At the end of the night I couldn't help but smile and be thankful for such a wonderful day.

No title

Amazing what one can accomplish without baby at home. My mom took Shiloh for a walk today and as soon as she left I put on my "supermom cape" and was off to conquer dirty laundry, dust particles, the mess in my closet, and so much more. In a hour I was able to cross off most of the things on my to-do list. I really don't know how moms who work manage to do it all. I am blessed to be able to stay home and take care of my little one and my husband but I just can't find enough time in the day to do it all. Every morning I wake up tired and every night I go to bed exhausted and when I feel like complaining I think about mothers who have to work outside of the home and how much harder it must be for them. Moms who work and take care of their children and home I bow down to you. You ladies are amazing and I wish I could throw you all a big party.
This week has been tough. Our trip was great but it totally threw off Shiloh's sleeping schedule. She was napping every two hours and going to bed every night at 8pm and now I can't get her to take naps during the day and at night she will fall asleep anywhere from 7pm to 9pm. I really want to go to California this summer but I don't know if it's a good idea, especially with the three hour time change. I have heard from many mothers that after trips their child's schedule is affected and some even swear never to take another trip until they are older but I would really like for Shiloh to be the type of child that can adapt to any situation but am I asking too much? I'm going to speak to her pediatrician about it when we go for her 4 month check up and see what he has to say about traveling when they are still babies because in the end I want was is best for her.

Meet Shiloh Melody

On November 24th we welcomed our little baby girl into the world. She has changed our lives for the better and each day we fall in love with her even more. She is now 3 and a half months and loves it when you sing and read to her, basically she likes us to give her our undivided attention. These days she is very noisy. She is discovering all the sounds she can make and seems to love hearing her own voice. In a couple of days we will be taking a trip to visit our family and I am a bit nervous about our trip. We will be flying and I am terrified with the idea of her having a breakdown while we are up in the air with a bunch of strangers. One of the things that I keep telling myself is that no matter what happens I have to stay calm and be in control. If she is fussy and crying and senses that I am nervous and stressed it will only make it worse. Hopefully between her daddy and me we will keep her calm and happy. We are so excited about seeing our family and having them meet her. It's too bad that we have to live so far from everyone but hopefully God will bless us so that we can visit each other often. Well there isn't much more to say. I just wanted to take a moment to get on this thing again. I would love to continue with this blog but most of the time I don't have time and don't really know what to blog about so bear with me.
